Report from January 19, 2007 Louisville Chapter Meeting

KSPE Louisville is pleased to announce that Stan Curtis, committee chair of Louisville's 16-member Ryder Cup Task Force, spoke at our first meeting of the new year, January 19, 2007!  Mr. Curtis will speak on the Ryder Cup, planned for September 2008 at Valhalla Golf Club.

Louisville will host the 37th Ryder Cup at Valhalla Golf Club in September 2008.  Considered one of the world’s preeminent golf events, the Ryder Cup pits a team of the top U.S. golfers against a European team.  The event is held every two years at alternating locations in the U.S. and Europe.  The U.S. last hosted the Ryder Cup in 2004 at Oakland Hills Country Club outside Detroit.  The Detroit Convention and Visitors Bureau reported that the event generated $114 million in economic impact to the area.
